Welcome!

GeoQuiz is a geography game developed for Nokia phones. It provides fully configurable quizzes covering multiple subjects, such as the flags and capitals of the world, the states of the U.S., the French departments, and more...

Memorizing geography facts
GeoQuiz's asset is that quizzes are fully configurable so that players can choose the subject they want to learn of course, but also the level of difficulty that suits their need. Moreover, this level of difficulty is not just a single option, but can be configured through various functions.
For instance, let's assume a player, called Jack, wants to learn the capitals of the world.
  1. First of all, rather than playing directly the world capitals quiz, Jack can choose to learn capitals continent by continent. Once he will be good enough in each world continents' capitals quiz, he will be able to play the world capitals quiz.
  2. Let's consider Jack starts with Europe. As he only knows few European capitals, he decides to start with a very simple quiz. He chooses "country names" for questions, "capitals" for answers he has to find, "multiple choice" for questions' type, and "database order" for questions' selection mode.
  3. After playing the quiz a few times, Jack already feels like he knows a bit more European capitals, and decides to change questions' selection mode so that questions are picked randomly.
  4. Then he decides to switch questions and answers: capitals are now picked as questions and country names as possible answers. This configuration is very important in Jack's learning process, as it helps him to associate countries and their capitals as single entities in his memory.
  5. Jack's next step is to stop using multiple choice questions and try to find the answers without any clues but the questions. He configures the game to display "open answer" questions, which means Jack now has to enter his answers in a text field. GeoQuiz provides an auto-completion tool so that players just have to type few letters rather than full answers.
  6. After only a few days, Jack's knowledge about European capitals has considerably increased. He can start learning another continent's capitals as soon as he wants. In order not to forget what he learned, Jack keeps playing the European capitals quiz from time to time; quite often in the next few weeks, but more and more rarely as time passe

The game will be released on the OVI store very soon. In the meantime, here are some snapshots:
